PEPPY PATCH Eye Patches are here!
Peppy Patch are custom made eye patches that fit onto eye glasses and are approved by ophthalmologists and optometrists as a treatment of Amblyopia (lazy eye) and Strabismus. They are created to offer kids a comfortable, reusable and stylish eye patch compared to other patches on the market. Children who already wear glasses are more receptive to wearing an eye patch. Peppy Patch has a wide variety of designs. Children love to pick, choose or design their own eye patch and take part in their own treatment. This excitement increases the chances of patching which means a better chance for visual recovery of the Amblyopic eye. Peppy Patch eye patches even blocks out peripheral vision.
Peppy Patch has created products that will encourage your child to use their imagination while patching. Pretending to be a pirate, a princess, or a super hero can help to develop a positive attitude towards their patching success. Being creative is the key and we love when Peppy Patcher’s request a patch they don’t see! If they can imagine it….we usually can make it!
How does the patch fit onto the glasses?
You just slide them over the lens and there is an elastic hoop that keeps the patch in place on the arm of the frame, it's as simple as that! Due to the designs on each patch it needs to be specified which eye your child covers. We would'nt want our Peppy Patcher's walking around with an upside down princess or spider!
Peppy Patch is sold here on our website and is approved by Division Chief for CHOC Children's Specialist Ophthalmology, Dr. David Sami who is board certified in Ophthalmology.
-"As a practicing Pediatric Ophthalmologist, I can attest that a comfortable eye patch goes a long way in improving compliance and wear time in children (as part of treatment for refractive and strabismic amblyopia). This can make difference between treatment success vs. treatment failure.
My experience with the Peppy Patch is that it is well designed, durable, comfortable and makes patching enjoyable. "
